A brief word on human testing in the early 20th century

Dr. William Dandy performed the first bilateral lobectomy on a human being in 1930.  The “subjects” were often patients from asylums.  This procedure was the forerunner to lobotomies.  However, the procedure of lobectomy was honed, and is still performed today, though with modern medical knowledge instead of digging around and hoping for the best.
