Technically this book was released on Monday, November 4, 2024, but…well…other events took priority and it seemed in poor taste to share this release in the immediate aftermath of everything else going on. But it’s been two weeks, and for the sake of mental and overall health, we do need to also focus on things that aren’t stressful.
So I’m announcing the release of Shattered Glass: The Gilded Cage! This book has been ready for several months now, but there have been ongoing issues with Amazon, first telling me I needed to get permission in writing from the copyright holder giving me permission to publish this. Yes, this means a letter saying that I give myself permission. And then, after that, KDP kept claiming that blank pages had images and text outside the print margins though there was nothing on those pages at all. When I finally decided to not wait and to push it through on Barns & Noble, Amazon finally approved the hardback version.
Two more versions are in the pipes—a color paperback through Barnes & Noble, and a paperback version with black & white interior through Amazon. Ebooks will be available in the coming weeks, and audio books will be available next year, starting with Shattered Glass: The Starling. The next book in this series is Josephine’s first story, which is currently in final edits. The last Shattered Glass book, to wrap up Grace’s arc, will be after that, and that book is finished, but releasing it before Josephine’s first book would spoil a huge reveal that is vitally relevant to Josephine’s arc, though not to Grace’s. Provided there are no more hiccups with Amazon, those two books will be released in February and April. But if you read these first two books and simply can’t wait until then, then contact us about being on our beta readers list. And if you don’t yet have your own copy of Shattered Glass: The Starling, then hop on over to The Bookshop to see where to get yours right now!
