Before the release of the next book, which begins Josephine’s arc, I need to take a moment to share an important update.
Lisa and I have parted ways creatively and personally. I won’t go into the details, but I will say this: Emergencies happen, and sometimes communication isn’t perfect when you’re in the middle of one. Recently, while traveling alone with my child in another country where she knew very, very little of the language, I found myself in the emergency room, and was unable to respond to a message for about nine hours. It wasn’t typical for me, and certainly not my intent to cause concern—but in that moment, my priority had to be getting medical care for myself and making sure my child was safe.
I respect Lisa’s decision to step away, and I wish her well as she moves forward. Sometimes difficult moments create unexpected changes, and not every partnership lasts forever, but I’m grateful for the work we created together and the time we shared as friends.
Moving forward, I will be completing the series on my own. It has always been my hope to let the work speak for itself rather than to draw distinctions about who contributed to what, and I intend to preserve that spirit as much as possible. However, given that Lisa is no longer involved in the creative process and is currently unreachable, it would not be responsible or fair to include her name on works she has not reviewed or approved. Out of respect for the stories, for readers, and for the integrity of the series, all crediting decisions will be made thoughtfully and independently from this point forward.
Thank you for your understanding and for the trust you’ve placed in these stories. Your support means more than I can ever say, and I look forward to continuing the journey with you.
